Privacy.
kyems.org is an independent advocacy site. This page says what the site collects, what it does not collect, and how to have your name removed. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
What we collect
Signing is voluntary. You can read everything on this site without giving us anything. If you do sign, we keep only what you type into the “Add my name” form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your county (EMS site only)
- What you do, if you choose to say (“I am a…”)
The form also records the date and time you signed and a two‑letter country code supplied by our hosting provider, so we can tell real Kentucky sign‑ups from automated junk. That is the whole list.
What we do not collect
- No IP addresses are stored.
- No cookies, trackers, analytics or advertising code. The pages contain no scripts at all.
- No browsing history, device details or location.
- No patient information — see below.
Where it goes and who can see it
Submissions are stored in a private database inside our own hosting account at Cloudflare. They are not sent to a mailing‑list company, a form service or anyone else. We do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties.
There is one exception, and we would rather state it than hide it: if a court order or subpoena requires us to produce records, we will produce only what it requires, and we will tell you unless the law forbids it. Nothing less than that compels disclosure — not a request from an employer, an agency or anyone else.
This is a private project, not a government agency. The sign‑up list is not a public record and is not subject to the Kentucky Open Records Act.
Your name stays private unless you tell us otherwise. We will not publish names, counts by employer, or anything that could identify who signed. If we ever ask to use a name publicly — for a letter to a legislator, for example — we will ask you first, in writing, and no is a complete answer.
How it is used
To count support for the standards on this site and, if you gave us an email address, to send occasional updates about them. Updates will be rare. Every one will include a way to stop them.
Removing your name
Email info@kyems.org from the address you signed with and say “remove me.” Your entry is deleted, not hidden, within seven days. No reason needed.
Please do not send patient information
Never put a patient’s name, medical record number, date of birth, room number, chart detail or anything else that could identify a patient into this form or into an email to us. That rule protects the patient, protects you, and keeps this project on the right side of HIPAA and your employer’s policies. If something arrives anyway, we delete it unread and do not keep a copy.
Mail to info@kyems.org is handled by Proton, a provider that encrypts stored mail. Write from a personal address, not a work one, and remember that your employer can read anything sent through its systems.
Hosting and links
The sites are served by Cloudflare, which sees the ordinary connection data any web host sees (your IP address, the page requested) to deliver the page and block attacks; we do not have access to that beyond aggregate counts. Links to outside sites — the NTSB, Kentucky boards, a union contract — lead to pages run by others with their own privacy practices.
Security
The accounts that hold this site and its list are protected by two‑factor authentication, the stored list is encrypted, and no one outside the project has access to it. We also say what every honest policy says: no system is perfectly secure, and email in particular can be read in transit by whoever runs the servers it passes through. Send us what you are comfortable sending.
Children
These sites are for working adults. We do not knowingly keep information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has signed, email us and we will remove the entry.
Changes
If this page changes in any way that matters — what we collect, who can see it, how to be removed — a notice will sit at the top of this page for thirty days, and the date below will change. Last updated October 29, 2026.
